Eurydice

Eurydice was a production produced by the Theatre Arts Department at the University of Central Oklahoma in the Fall of 2017. For this production Skyler was one of Two Assistant Stage Managers, under the supervision of a Student Production Stage Manager. This production consisted of  2-weeks of table work followed by a 5-week rehearsal process with 1-week of Tech and Performances. For this production I supervised the tracking of props and character entrances and exits. This production proved to be a challenge due to the amount of devising that went into the project. With elements of the production constantly being developed, there were continuous changes being made up until the last possible moment. Under Dr.Buss' direction and the authors permission, in this production we gender bent the casting, allowing for Orpheus to be played by a female. Pushing the envelope of queer romance and deliberately challenging the status quo. Along side tracking props and persons on stage throughout this production, Skyler also took it upon himself to re-write the script that the production team would ultimately use for the final production. The re-writing was intended to correct pronouns and minor changes from gender bending the character of Orpheus.
